How this site earns

Last updated 2026-10-13.

EmploymentWise is free to use and sells nothing. This page says plainly where its income comes from, so you can weigh what you read.

The partner solicitor

No firm is signed yet. Enquiries made through the form are passed, with your consent, to one employment solicitor firm regulated by the Law Society of Ireland, and no payment changes hands for them. When a partner firm is signed it will be named here and in the consent text on the form, with the fee structure stated: either a fixed amount per qualified enquiry (“just researching” never charged), or a fixed sponsorship if the firm’s compliance partner requires it under section 62 of the Solicitors Act 1954.

Unions are not a partner

Every dismissal, discipline and bullying guide tells union members to ring their union first, and the union page links the ICTU directory. No union pays EmploymentWise and none is ranked. A site that sent union members to a solicitor would not deserve its readers.

What never changes

  • No payment affects what the guides say. Content is written from the official sources named on each page.
  • A solicitor prompt appears under a tool result only where the result itself signals complexity: a protected ground, no procedure, a clock under 60 days, an ex gratia offer, an underpayment over €2,000. Leave, holiday and sick-pay results never carry one.
  • The awards register is editorial, not partner copy. No solicitor’s copy on this site states a success rate, quotes an award as an inducement, or uses the phrase the advertising rules ban.
  • The site serves employees only: no HR software, no employer-side services, no recruitment or CV affiliates on employee pages, no claims-management firms, ever.

Other income, when it exists

  • A labelled affiliate placement from an income-protection or legal-expenses insurance broker on the sick-pay, stress and redundancy guides, with the free State route (Illness Benefit, Jobseeker’s) always linked beside it.
  • A labelled affiliate from a regulated pension adviser on the auto-enrolment and redundancy lump-sum pages.
  • Translayte, the certified-translation service already on StampWise, on the chapter 9 guides for permit holders only, labelled.
  • A “claim your listing” directory of solicitors and advisers at a fixed annual fee, with no ranking by fee and no enquiry fee.
  • Display advertising only at a floor, and only once the site is large enough; none at launch.

None of these exists at the date above. Each will be listed here when it does.
