The Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 gives the greatest of 4 working weeks for 1,365 hours in the leave year, one third of a week for each month of 117 hours, or 8% of time worked. Enter the days you work in a week, half days included, and the tool works all three and shows the answer in days.

Your working week

How many days do you work, and when does the leave year run?

Half days count: enter 2.5 for two and a half days. The Act works in hours underneath; the tool shows the hours alongside. Your employer’s leave year is in your contract or handbook; the statutory default runs from 1 April.

The tool gives the statutory minimum from a steady pattern of hours. A contract or a sector order may give more; your employer's leave record is the figure to compare it with.
